Many (investigative) journalists avoid financial words like net income, depreciation and cash flows. That is a pity, because with some basic knowledge you can do quite a lot of work before calling on your experts for help. This workshop’s main goal is to help you decide if it’s worthwhile to investigate companies in the EU more thoroughly. The first section will focus on the basics of financial statements. You will have the opportunity to practise some of the basic skills. The second section will focus on several case studies.
