Dirk Tuymans graduated from the University of Antwerp where he received a Master’s degree in applied economics. After a brief academic career at this university (Accounting and finance Department), he joined the National Bank of Belgium in 1997.
At present, he is responsible for the collection and distribution of annual accounts at the Central Balance Sheet Office, with a special focus on the Belgian business register KBO and on the “electronic Central Balance Sheet Office” (webfiling and online consultation of annual accounts). He is also an active member of the Business Registers Working Group of XBRL Europe.
